Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
StackDrop ("StackDrop", "we", "us") runs stackdrop.ai, a directory of AI tools organized by use case, and the StackDrop newsletter. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you browse the site. We do not require an account and we do not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request, for security and to keep the site running. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views; it doesn't use cookies and records the page, referring site, country, browser and device type without identifying you.
When you click a tool link. Links to tools go through a StackDrop redirect (/go/...). Each click creates one individual record containing: the tool clicked, whether the link went to an affiliate link or the tool's official site, the placement (for example a regular listing or a Featured slot), the path of the StackDrop page you clicked from (without any query string), the country your request came from (as reported by our host), and the time. The record does not include your IP address, a cookie or device identifier, or any name or email. We use these counts to improve the directory and to give sponsors aggregate click reports. Sponsors never receive information about individual visitors.
When you subscribe to the newsletter. We collect your email address, and our newsletter provider (beehiiv) records whether emails are delivered, opened and clicked. We use this to send the newsletter and to report aggregate numbers (such as subscriber count and average open rate) to sponsors.
When you email us. We keep the message and your email address so we can reply.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email address with sponsors or advertisers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and the site is not directed at them.
Affiliate links and third-party sites
Some tool links are affiliate links. When you leave StackDrop for a tool's website, that site's own privacy policy applies, and it may use cookies to credit us for a referral. See our Affiliate and Sponsorship Disclosure.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run StackDrop: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (click counts), beehiiv (newsletter), and Resend (email sending). They process data on our behalf under their own terms and security practices.
How long we keep data
Individual click records are kept for 13 months, then deleted or combined into totals that can't be linked to a single click. Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe, after which we stop emailing you. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Do Not Track
We don't respond to browser Do Not Track signals because we don't track you across other websites, and we don't allow third parties to collect information about your activity across sites through StackDrop. Tool and affiliate websites you visit through our links may set their own cookies under their own policies.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link at the bottom of every issue.
- Access or deletion: email hello@stackdrop.ai and we will respond within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your personal information. Contact us to exercise them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter.
